The Papogay Festival<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The inhabitants of Rieux-Volvestre have managed to preserve and promote the popular tradition of \u201cPapogay shooting\u201d !<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every first Sunday in May, Papogay shooting takes place. A metal parrot is placed on a 45-meter-high pole. The archer who knocks it down becomes King of the Papogay for the year. This event also features a mass in Occitan and a parade in medieval costumes. \ud83d\udcc5 First weekend in May in Rieux-Volvestre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
