Peyssies – Around the lakes !
🌿 Straddling the towns of Peyssies and Bois-de-la-Pierre, this is a very pleasant place for hikers. The “Autour des lacs” hike invites you to follow two lakes :
- The Great Lake of 17 hectares : known to fishermen, it is a carpodrum which is also home to pike and other fish
- The 2-hectare Little Lake : a Natura 2000 area, it houses a heronry (yes, yes, a heron house !) with many birds to observe.

It is wheelchair accessible with adapted equipment. You can also eat on site thanks to the Resto des Lacs (all year round) and the Au P’tit Creux guinguette (open-air cafĂ©) during the nice weather.


LONGAGES – Sabatouse lake
At the entrance to the town of Longages and near the train station, find Lake Sabatouse !
The “Le Rabe et les Lacs de Sabatouse ” hike is a very easy circular route, inviting you to discover Longages and then reach Lake Sabatouse. It is wheelchair accessible with adapted equipment. Formerly a gravel pit, this lake is now home to significant biodiversity (water birds, orchids, etc.) and numerous activities :
- A sports course with a small climbing wall
- The Ogrossomod’eau open-air cafĂ© all summer long
- The Canoe Voyageur nautical base
- Picnic tables

Notre-Dame de Montaut circuit
This hike takes you to Montbrun-Bocage, at the gateway to Ariège ! A family-friendly loop through forests, pastures, and varied landscapes, this route ends at the Bouydou lake, where you’ll find picnic tables, a fishing pontoon, and a barbecue.

Through this hike, you can also discover the emblematic Montbrun-Bocage market on Sunday mornings and the village’s heritage : listed church, castle, Montaut chapel and its fountain and the works of the Symposium.
