Les Journées Européennes des Métiers d’Art
Travel the roads and meet our creators in Volvestre !
Whether they are ceramists, sculptors, or upholsterers, they all have one thing in common: a passion for their craft !
A tour is created each year, but you can visit their workshops by appointment.

The Papogay Festival
The inhabitants of Rieux-Volvestre have managed to preserve and promote the popular tradition of “Papogay shooting” !
Every first Sunday in May, Papogay shooting takes place.
A metal parrot is placed on a 45-meter-high pole. The archer who knocks it down becomes king of Papogay for the year.
This event also features a mass in Occitan and a parade in medieval costumes.

Empreinte Carbonne
The crime fiction festival takes place in the central hall of Carbonne every year !
An event that allows you to meet authors, discover new books, attend panel discussions, and stroll through the city.

Festival Latimundo
Latin American culture is invited to Volvestre during the Latimundo Festival .
Enjoy a meal accompanied by a concert and a temporary exhibition.
Proceeds benefit the Pececitos association , which helps children in the slums of Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay.

L’île au théâtre
The L’île au théâtre festival takes place over 3 days on the first weekend of June.
The big top hosts four shows (including one for younger audiences) on Ramier Island in Montesquieu-Volvestre. A celebration of popular theater, this festival aims to introduce audiences to the theatrical act.
It features an eclectic program, more than ever, on the theme of laughter to tears.

Le festival du conte
The Festival du conte, is three days of storytelling !
The storytellers of the Association Et Cric et Crac au bout du conte meet you every year in July, in several towns, to share their passion with you in a friendly atmosphere !

Les Théâtrales du Volvestre
This festival, dedicated to all forms of theatre, is supported by Tour’Art Collectif in collaboration with the town hall of Rieux-Volvestre.
It brings together the town, cultural associations and residents around the project to rehabilitate La Tourasse (an Italian-style theatre dating from 1923).

Festival du film britannique
Every year, Montesquieu-Volvestre hosts the Festival du Film Britannique.
The Festival du Film Britannique invites you to discover its selection of English and Irish films screened in their original language with subtitles.

Festival Les 31 Notes d’été
The Haute-Garonne Departmental Council offers you a clever mix of music, shows, exhibitions and discoveries of local heritage.
Young talents from Haute-Garonne and local treasures will enchant you in some thirty town centers across the department.

Les Journées Agricoles du Volvestre
Every 3 years the Volvestre Agricultural Days are held in Montesquieu-Volvestre.
This event, which has been going on for over 50 years, offers the public the opportunity to learn more about the animal breeds raised in our region.
It’s also a showcase of rural life, with numerous activities, play areas for children, and surprising discoveries at each stand !
