a pilgrim’s way
A former natural route used from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance to reach Santiago de Compostela via Piedmont, the Via Garona is a forgotten pilgrimage route to Compostela. Attentive walkers will not fail to notice traces of the Jacobean heritage at several stages along the way.

Rieux-Volvestre, a place to stop
We welcome you to the Rieux-Volvestre tourist office, one of three stops on the Via Garona route that has been awarded the âCommune Halte-Chemins de Compostelleâ label, where you can get your credential stamped! The municipality also offers accommodation reserved for hikers at a preferential rate.
