an unmissable village of character

Near Toulouse, Saint-Sulpice-sur-Lèze is a must-see destination in Volvestre. Typical of the southwest, this picturesque fortified town will charm you with its atmosphere, its friendliness and its remarkable architectural heritage. Stroll under its arcades, sit on the terrace of our restaurants , push open the doors of the artisan shops or head up to the heights to discover the majestic Moulin de Pesquiès. A destination where the heritage is a true jewel that the town and the associations try to preserve and protect. A heritage that sometimes deserves a helping hand to regain its shine and endure over time.

A house steeped in the history of this typical southwestern village

Built in the 13th century, this house has seen the passing of illustrious families such as Jacques Ayral, a wealthy 16th-century merchant and owner of a pastel mill. Then, in the 19th and 20th centuries, the Dohey family, known for being a family of bankers and agricultural engineers, also became owners of this village house. Ultimately, the Maison d’Alphonse de Poitiers was recognized as a Historic Monument in 1950, both for its architecture and for the families who came to settle there.
