Africa in volvestre !
Located on the heights of Montesquieu-Volvestre, the SCAC Marestaing welcomes African sculptors for a six-week stay during the summer period. Each artist produces a masterpiece for the domain. Discover these works of art with the view of the Pyrenees Mountains.
Artist residence
Discover the contemporary African Art in the heart of Volvestre !
Reception of artists
- A stay from 1 to 3 months, the period is from on 1st June to on 30th October.
- Contemporary art exhibition
- Reception of visitors and art lovers.
The equipment provided:
- Metal: forge, shears, drill press, metal cutting saw, welding, grinder…
- Woodworking: chainsaw, planer, band saw, mortiser, sanders, portable planer
- Hand tools
The selection:
- No theme is imposed.
- Selection based on application and project
- Regional and collaborative projects are appreciated.
The selected artists are encouraged to meet with the local population in order to participate in artistic awareness-raising.
